Power. Control. Dismantling. Rebuilding.
... these are some keywords of Pluto (planet of transformation), now direct in the sign of Capricorn at the fate-shaping, critical 29th degree. This is a final degree, representing Pluto's last moments in Capricorn, and subsequently, the last time any of us will experience Pluto in Capricorn again in our lifetime as it wont return to this sign for another 200 years. Between now and November 19 (when Pluto enters Aquarius for an extended stay) it will imbue undeniable pressure to take action in the area of your chart where you have Capricorn. This area of life is also where you've been called to deeply evolve over the last 16 years!
As you read this, even if you don't know your astrology... you likely know (and can feel) what area of life is transforming for you in a major way. It's that area of life where you're ready to reclaim your power because at some point, you felt you had to give it away to survive. It's that area where respect is a desideratum, and anything less than that will not suffice. Whether Pluto's evolutionary force has reached your career, personal relationships, sense of spirituality, family, identity, finances or something entirely different... it's an unrelenting force that instigates necessary change.
Consider this the end of an era, one that began in 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn - for the first time since the 1700's.
You are NOT the person you were in 2008, and in fact, you're walking away from that version of yourself right now.
During this cycle, Pluto revealed hidden truths.. especially in the realms of finances, responsibilities, personal strength, authority figures, power dynamics, the patriarchy, government systems and more. Pluto demands we burn down what no longer works and reimagine a more realistic, equitable way forward. In order to institute these changes, Pluto in Capricorn had to show us the core foundational issues that were broken beyond repair. Both in our personal lives and in the world around us, I think we can all agree this was challenging! Capricorn is a serious, Saturn-ruled sign that loves delivering reality checks and lessons.

Since 2008, we've experienced financial crisis, major political upheavals, a global pandemic, the exposure of systemic dishonesty, corruption + many, many more circumstances that urged us to question traditions and outdated ways of living. As our awareness grew, so did the pressure to perform and survive under a reign not yet evolved.
Personally, this was a period that could have felt restrictive, especially if you have prominent placements in the cardinal signs (aries, cancer, libra, capricorn). For all of us, we were challenged with the task of achieving success within a broken system designed for us to fail, whilst also channeling enough motivation to change it. Since 2008, many of us felt beholden to work, money, toxic masculinity, obligations, depression, trying to prove ourselves in the world, feeling unsafe to explore or go against the status quo. Others didn't- other's felt extremely activated, empowered and in their flow. Remember that everyone responds to planetary energy differently, and we all have nuanced astrology charts. Nothing in this world is perfect, but where you're at right now is. Plutonian power is experienced as an unfolding, and it's a process we cannot rush. Pluto moves incredibly slow, and in fact is our slowest moving planet. All planets take time, just like us.
Today is an important day for Pluto. It goes direct in Capricorn after being dormant in retrograde since May 2, 2024. This is an awakening, and again, Pluto's last dance in Capricorn. You could notice yourself feeling more intense, taking things more seriously. This isn't inherently negative. In fact, you could feel extremely passionate, emotionally heightened and more intimate moving forward. Dare I even say, magnetic and sexy? Exploring the taboo, are we? Honoring your desires and curiosities without judgment, perhaps? Open to tasting the flesh and indulging in your carnal desires? Don't forget the hot, dominant nature of Capricorn and Pluto's obsession with getting deep... this could bode extremely well for your relationships, especially with the people you're extremely drawn to. Sometimes (with consent and imagination) restraints can be sexy :)
Retrogrades are always an opportunity to "re-do" and that applies to Pluto retrograde as well. As we look back on the last 6 months, we now begin to see the "TOWER" moment happening right before our eyes. Power. Control. Dismantling. Rebuilding. We are facing deeper truths about ourselves and the world around us like never before.
Pluto re-entered the domain of Capricorn on September 1st to change the tide, but was retrograde. With Pluto now in full-swing forward, we're being asked to revisit power dynamics and take a look at how others abuse their influence and notoriety once and for all. We'll be looking at things like boundaries, structures and responsibilities. It doesn't sound like the most fun - I know - but in order to dismantle old systems we must confront the issues again for a final time.

Pluto is the great destroyer and because of this, we can actually learn how to conquer our fears right now- especially as they relate to Capricorn themes such as male energy, power, control, work, money, goals, ambitions + more. Pluto *forces* us to find the light out of necessity. It's happened in history, and it's happening now. It behooves us to name this, to name our fears surrounding change and dismantling of the world as we know it.
Word to the wise: Control is illusionary. And the sooner we can realize this great fact, the easier of a time we'll have instituting our magic. We have to DRILL, and we have to DIG. But will we rise despite the darkness? Will solution be realized collectively? We're about to find out.
There seems to be a "now or never" type of vibe happening right now, too. We could be pushed to our edges. For some, this is kind of hot and exciting. For others, this elicits fear of the unknown.
Pluto likes to expose the truth, and this will happen for us internally and externally. The direct motion of Pluto means it's now highly influential and moving with ample intention. Yes, this can definitely be spiritual in nature as Pluto speaks to the underworld and inner-world. Practices like meditation, visualization and rest will feel especially helpful. Capricorn rules time, such as clocks and watches... so if you feel like you're "running out of time" - ask yourself if you really are. There's no time like the present.
You may begin to notice manipulations exposed and brought to the surface, or people who have misused their power grasping at feeble attempts to assert their dominance. This is about others and society, yes, but it's also about YOU.

So.. what IS your truth? This is a beautiful time to reflect on how you navigate endings and new beginnings, ensuring you have grace and patience for both. Will you drill, dig, and find the light... as Pluto suggests?
With the storyline being told so vibrantly by the Planets (as always) I want to reflect back to you how valuable your own agency, self-trust and intuition is at this time. Pluto speaks to our inner-realm and emotions, and this is where we can nurture. and heal. and really transform.
What I want you to do as we sink into Pluto direct is this: ask yourself what's ready to change, once and for all. Be really honest with yourself. Then (and this part is important) take a look at how you respond/react to change. Change is inevitable right now.... and how we navigate change is going to 100% shape the experience you have. So, if you resist change, if you fear change, if you love change, if you embrace change.... know where you stand and be willing to do something about it. What do you need during times of change... is it support, love, connection, clarity? Figure out those needs and do anything you can to facilitate them for yourself as Pluto powers through your life and the world around you. I promise, it'll be worth it.
